Firefighters rescue determined German Shepherd that chased cat up a tree

Somewhere in the firefighters training manual there's probably a section about getting cats out of trees, but likely not much on what to do when there's a dog up in the branches.

Yet that's the unusual scene faced by members of the Lathrop Manteca Fire District in California, who were called out over the past weekend to rescue a German Shepherd who found itself stuck at the top along with the cat it chased.

Photos posted to the department's Facebook page show the before and after scenes, with the first responders successfully aiding both to the ground.
