Orlando police investigate shooting on West Jefferson Street near Orange Avenue

Orlando, Fla. — Orlando police homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are working the scene of a deadly shooting that happened in downtown Saturday morning.

They say around 2:48 a.m., gunshots were heard on 62 West Jefferson Street, located near the Jefferson Street Parking Garage. After arriving on scene, they found a black man lying on the sidewalk who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim died from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 26 year old D'Javan S. Gayden. OPD is still working the scene.
