Family Finds Large Snake at Front Door of Lake County Home

Lake County, Fla. — A family from out of state arrived at the home of relatives to find a giant snake blocking the front door, so they called 9-1-1.

Lake County Fire Rescue’s Venom 2 Unit responded to the call and captured an 8-foot boa constrictor that had taken up residency at the front of the home.

According to chief Dan Miller, all members of the venom team are snake experts, that would make sense. The boa was turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Officials think the snake was most likely someone's pet at some point in time.
